With the Global Warming issue taking such precedence these days, I have built a new demonstration model of an old invention of mine to help save the planet.
The two wheel car will use far, far less fuel than a conventional car - with consequent reduction of green house gases, and fuel savings. And such a car could be built at a fraction of the price of a normal car, and use far fewer resources to build.
The concept is absolute simplicity, as the car stays balanced all the time due to most of the weight being below the centre of gravity. And the large wheels means that there is less friction with the ground, similar to the larger wheels of a 27 inch bike compared with a child's 20 inch wheels. And a smoother ride, and much simpler suspension.
How can it get any better than this?
Whole cities could use these vehicles to reduce traffic problems and pollution. And they would be so inexpensive, they could almost be provided by cities for the free use of the people.
Here is a small minute and a half movie demonstrating the concepts of the two wheel car. This proof of concept model is a two seater model, but single seater pedal versions or larger covered four seater versions could easily be made. And many could easily be connected together to make larger units.
The movie of Ken and Barbie taking a test run in the two seater open top sports model is here: http://members.ozemail.com.au/~oscarptyltd/TwoWheelCut.avi
What would it take to get the car built and create a better world for all of us?
